Semantic Relationships

This simply means the relationships between different things.
It is used by Google to form the relationship between things and to establish facts, which then make up the Knowledge Graph.
For example, if our two “things” were a Tree and the Soil, and we say that the Tree is planted in the Soil, then that is a Semantic relationship.
